Suriname's best supermarket with branches on the Johannes Mungrastraat and on the Twee Kinderweg started as a traditional, small Chinese grocery store. Mr. Yuk Kau Choi, father Rudy the current director-owner, started this grocery store in 1982.
The shop on the Johannes Mungrastraat no. 11 era is less than 300 m² in size and was run by father and mother Choi, the children and assisted by one member of staff. The shop was popular with customers and soon it was necessary to move to larger premises at number 17 where the new shop was developed into a large supermarket over the course of approximately 10 years.
